Earth Day 2013 / The Face of Climate Change

The Face of Climate Change

Dear Friend,

This year for Earth Day, Earth Day Network is organizing a massive digital collection of images from around the world that show The Face of Climate Change. Change can be negative - floods, droughts, disappearing species - but it can also be positive – like the change wrought by activists and concerned citizens like you who are working to make things better. The images we collect will be part of an interactive digital display to be shown at Earth Day events all over the world.

We know you are already acting around climate change, so this year, our Earth Day message is simple. Take some pictures. Share them with us. Don’t forget to tell us where your photos were taken and why they represent your face of climate change. The sooner you can get us the photos the better.  The digital display is going live on Friday and we want YOU to help us populate our launch!

We’ve shared a few pictures with you here in case you need any ideas. We’re looking for images that communicate about climate change by connecting it to faces, #faceofclimate signs, or clear stories about environmental solutions or problems. Please feel free to be as creative (or straightforward) as you like. We need everybody’s contributions.  And hey, if you make a sign, why not recycle it by passing it to on to someone else so they can take a picture too!

Share your faces of climate change with Earth Day and we’ll share them with the world.

You can upload photos directly at www.earthday.org/2013 or you can find us and connect on Flickr at www.flickr.com/groups/faceofclimate

Thank you.

Earth Day 2012 / Mobilize the Earth™

 Posted by Stella Thorsen

Hey everyone!

Earth Day 2012 is getting closer and we are really excited about it!

On April 22, more than one billion people around the globe will participate in Earth Day 2012 and help Mobilize the Earth™. People of all nationalities and backgrounds will voice their appreciation for the planet and demand its protection. Together we will stand united for a sustainable future and call upon individuals, organizations, and governments to do their part.

As all of you know, Nektarina is an official partner with Earth Day Network (www.earthday.org) since March 2011, and so far we've helped plant over 200,000 trees as a part of Billion Acts of Green campaign.

We continue to work together with Earth Day Network, and we will help them mark this year's Earth Day (April 22) themed "Mobilize the Earth".

This year's Earth Day is a platform for people from all walks of life and from all over the world to call on their leaders to ensure access to clean renewable energy for all.
This is also aligned with the 2012 being the UN's Year Of Renewable Energy for All.

Different events across the world will include rallying, marching, protesting, petitioning - making noise, in essence, to raise awareness, highlight this issue and offer a chance for people to voice their concerns about the energy system but also to work together to promote renewable energy resources.

Nektarina Non Profit will participate in this year's Earth Day through "Positive Energy Storytelling".

After some serious organizing, we managed to get 2012 volunteers who will help us in the next four weeks collect snapshots (and hopefully some videos) of how people across 35 countries see renewable energy is their lives. Our target will be to reach 220,412 (22. 04. 2012.) people and ask them to share their views on how the use of renewable energy can help improve the quality of their lives and their communities.

We will share updates on our Facebook Timeline (facebook.com/facebook.com/nektarinanonprofit ) and Twitter (@nektarina)

Have a positive story about renewable energies or energy efficiency in your community (or in your household)? Why not share it and inspire others to use more renewables and be more energy efficient!

Email us to earthday@nektarinanonprofit.com

and help us celebrate Earth Day 2012 with "Positive Energy Storytelling"!

A year ago Nektarina Non Profit partnered with Earth Day Network and we joined their Billion Acts of Green® campaign.

Today, we would like to share with you what we accomplished in the past ten months. We are still compiling data from some of the countries involved in our part of the project and the final report will be published end of May 2012 (and will be presented during the Rio+20 conference in June), until then, this presentation should give you a pretty good idea of our activities and milestones. Once again, many many thanks to everyone involved in the project!
