Post-2015 Thematic Consultation on Environmental Sustainability

UN Women invite both organizations and individuals to make their voices heard at the global post-2015 Thematic Consultation on Environmental Sustainability, co-organized by UNDP and UNEP in consultation with UN Women. Please see: www.worldwewant2015.org/sustainability2015.

At this stage, UN Women welcome ideas on topics that you think should be a priority for the dialogue on environmental sustainability in the post-2015 agenda (to be held in February-March 2013).

More specifically, UN Women invite to build on MDG7 experiences and lessons learned and bring forward new and emerging thinking and experiences related to the broader concept of sustainable development (integrating economic, social and environmental issues). UN Women encourage in particular to highlight issues related to gender equality and women’s empowerment, other forms of inequalities as well as human rights.

A review of the proposed topics will be carried out in January 2013 and Phase 2: the in-depth consultation on the selected topics, which will be held in February-March 2013. The final report of the Consultation will be provided to the High-Level Panel of the UN Secretary-General on the post-2015 development agenda (chaired by:President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono of Indonesia; President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf of Liberia; and Prime Minister David Cameron of the United Kingdom).
